Are you ready to Bounsea! The giant bouncy castle is here to make you jump with joy and happiness. The 500 square meters structure is a fun, safe and interactive play for children and adults of all ages. It includes a baby zone, slides, a climbing wall, a challenge track and many fun and colourful features. Get ready for lots of laughter and a serious workout.

Once your bouncing session comes to an end you can cool down in the Splash Park, where you can try Walk-on-Water balls or take the fun adventure into other exciting spots such as boating on The Magical unicorn Lake.

Bounsea

What are your operating times?

We run eight 30 minute sessions that start on the hour from 11am. Open on all weekends, public and school holidays and any sunny days during term time between April and the end of August, weather dependent.

How long does the session last?

Each session lasts 30 minutes.

Who can bounce? Is there an age limit?

Anyone aged 1 to 100 is welcome! But to keep everyone safe we’ve split each session into different age groups.

Toddler Sessions - 11am, 4pm are exclusively for parents/carers with children aged 5 and under (ages 1-5). All kids 5 and under have to be accompanied.
Junior Sessions - 12pm are for kids aged 8 and under (ages 1-8). Their parents/carers can join them too. All kids 5 and under have to be accompanied. Please note - this session is designed specifically for smaller children and is usually less boisterous than those sessions involving older
kids.
Teens Sessions 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 5pm are for children aged 15 and under (ages 1-15). Their parents/carers can join them too. All kids 5 and under have to be accompanied. Please note this session can sometimes be too boisterous for smaller children and we recommend they attend our
Junior or Toddler sessions.
Adults Sessions 6pm, are open to anyone aged 16 and over.

Who can purchase a ticket and is waiver necessary?

Only adults age 18+ are able to purchase ticket and have to sign and online waiver on behalf of all participants.

What time should I arrive?

Please aim to arrive around 15 minutes before your session start time. We’ll quickly check your tickets so please have these printed or ready to show on your mobile phone.

What are the general rules at Bounsea?

Please follow staff requests and instructions
Children age 5 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult
Must wear socks
To avoid friction burns please wear long trousers and cover your elbows
No jewellery or face paint
No food or drink
No spectacles
No smoking and No alcohol
No drugs (prescription or otherwise)
No one with history of back or neck pain and/or injury
Pets are not allowed

INSIDE BOUNSEA
Follow staff instructions at all times
Children aged 5 and under must be accompanied and supervised by an adult
No stunts or flips
No climbing or hanging onto walls
Obstacle Track, climbing tower and slide has a height restriction of 1.2m

SLIDE
Maximum 4 people on top of the slide
SLIDE ALWAYS FEET FIRST WITH ARMS ACROSS YOUR CHEST, LAYING ON YOUR BACK
SLIDE ONE AT THE TIME
Ensure no one is at the bottom of the slide before you slide

CLIMBING TOWER
One person per wall
Do not stand under the wall if a person is climbing

CHALLENGE TRACK
Ensure you are physically fit
Take your time on your first round

Please report any First Aid incidents to staff immediately

What do I need to wear to take part?

Bouncing and having this much fun in the outdoors will require some energy. So we suggest you dress in something to keep cool. However to protect from friction burns while using slides, it’s best to wear long pants and slide with your arms across your chest There are ‘no shoes’ and ‘no bare feet’ allowed. We have awesome branded socks available for purchase at £3 each or you can bring socks of your own. There will be a covered inflatable ‘shoe zone’ to leave shoes before you enter. Comfort is key!

Do I need to to pay if I am only supervising?

Everyone that enters Bounsea has to purchase a ticket. This help us to monitor the numbers and maintain the site

Will it get too hot in the sun?

Bounsea is an outdoor castle open mostly during the summer months. Therefore, on sunny days the castle can get hot, we advise all participants to dress appropriately including socks, stay hydrated and apply sunscreen.

Can I take pictures?

Pictures and videos are not allowed however you are permitted to take discreet photos of your children and family only.

I’m pregnant - can I bounce?

Whilst we do allow those who are pregnant to take part, you do so at your own risk. Be mindful that the surface of any inflatables can be unpredictable, and you may lose your footing at points.

What facilities are available on site?

Public toilets are located behind the parks cafe.

What’s the best way to get to Bounsea?

Bounsea is situated inside Barking Park, Barking, Essex. Entrance thru the gates adjacent to the playground.
The following transport lines have routes that pass near Barking Park:
Bus – 5, EL1, EL2; Train – Barking station on C2C, Overground and Underground – Barking station on District line. Train station is 10 minutes walking distance from splash park.

How to get to Barking Park car park?

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO SPECIFIC POSTAL ADDRESS for Bounsea itself as it is positioned in the middle of Barking park, access next to the playground.
There are parking spaces on the nearby streets and two car parks inside Barking Park:

FREE car park is accessed via South Park Drive, entrance between allotments and bus stop. Use postcode IG11 8FF, Ilford, UK for directions.

PAID car park accessed via Long Bridge Road thru the main Barking Park gates. Use postcode IG11 8TA, which is the building right next to the park’s main entrance gates.

What else can I do in Barking Park?

Once your splashing session comes to an end, you can take the fun adventure into other parts of Barking Park, including exciting spots such as boating on The Magical Unicorn Lake and Bounsea

Other facilities of the park include a cafe, playground, skatepark and tennis courts. Beautiful gardens are also there to explore.

Tickets

Can I buy tickets on site or are they only available online?

A limited number of general tickets are available onsite. To guarantee entry please book online.

Can I get a refund on pre-booked tickets?

All purchased tickets are non-refundable, however they can be rescheduled up to 2 hours before the session/event start time. It is the visitor’s responsibility o monitor the weather and decide if the conditions are suitable for their children.

What if I’m late?

You can still enter during your session however you will not be able to stay in once your session has finished. If there is availability in the next session, and only at the discretion of the manager on duty, you may decide to relax in the park and come back for the next session.

What if it’s raining?

If the weather forecast suggests rain, please reschedule your visit for alternative date/time. You can do so 2 hours prior to start time of your session. We are still bouncing if there is a drizzle but will be closed if heavier rain is present.

My session was cancelled, what happens next?

If your session has been canceled you will be notified as soon as possible and advised to reschedule it via Manage My Booking button on home page.

Events & Collaborations

Can I organise a birthday party for my child?

Yes, we would be very happy for you to bring the guests to celebrate in Bounsea. To proceed, simply purchase all the required tickets online. If you want to have an exclusive use of Bounsea for 30 min this can be arranged, depending on availability. Minimum charge £150. Max number of users is 40.

Lost & Found

How do I contact lost & found?

Although we are not responsible for any theft/loss, so far no such incidents have been noted. Lost and found items are kept in an onsite office. Uncollected low value items such as towels, clothes,
and small toys are donated to local charities at the end of the summer season.
