Splashy: Igniting Dreams in London’s Youth

Splashy isn’t just a mascot. He’s a mentor, a mirror, and a movement.

Born from a desire to blend emotional education with creative joy, Project Splashy helps
children connect with their feelings in a safe, relatable way. Whether through storytelling,
music, or gentle mascot-led interactions at Splash Park, Splashy opens doors that standard
activities often can’t.

As a professional trained in applied clinical neuroscience and psychology—and as someone
who has worked with children of all backgrounds—I wanted to create something that felt
magical and real at the same time. Splashy is that bridge.

“When Splashy danced with my child in the fountains, she lit up in a way I haven’t seen in a
long time,” said one parent. “She said, ‘He gets how I feel without saying a word.’”

What Makes Splashy Special?

  • Emotion-based storytelling – Splashy doesn’t just entertain; he helps children
understand feelings like sadness, anger, and anxiety in a way they can engage with.
  • Interactive sessions – From dance breaks to calm-down techniques, Splashy shows
children that emotions are not scary—they’re tools.
  • Diversity and inclusion – Splashy visits schools and communities across London,
bringing his big-hearted message to children from every walk of life.

The Power of Playful Prevention

Mental health challenges are on the rise among young people—but prevention is possible. By
teaching emotional literacy early through play, we give children the tools to express
themselves, build resilience, and thrive.

Splashy’s sessions are designed to:

  • Strengthen self-esteem
  • Promote empathy
  • Reduce stigma around emotions

Whether he’s gently leading a mindfulness exercise or making kids laugh with his signature
“splash and spin,” Splashy proves that serious support can still be seriously fun.

“It’s the first time my son raised his hand to talk about a feeling,” a teacher shared. “That
moment was gold.”

More Than a Mascot

Children often describe Splashy as a “big friend” or “a superhero with water powers.” But what
he really is… is a reminder. A reminder that kindness is strength. That emotions are messages.
And that every child deserves to be heard.

So whether Splashy is dancing in the fountains or visiting a local school, one thing is certain:
He’s not just a character. He’s a spark.

And that spark is lighting up children across London.
